Jinjiang Shoes Export Exceeded 1.7 Billion US Dollars

The reporter learned from the inspection and quarantine department that in 2008, Jinjiang inspected and exported 475 million pairs of footwear products with a value of 1.731 billion US dollars, down 0.48% and up 10.75% respectively over the previous year, including 180 million pairs exported to the United States, Switzerland and the European Union, and 744 million US dollars. Although the total export volume declined slightly, the value of export goods broke the US $1.7 billion mark for the first time. According to the analysis of Jinjiang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, since the second half of last year (2008), Jinjiang shoe enterprises have actively adjusted their industrial structure, improved their production conditions and accepted many high price orders, which is the main reason why the export volume has remained stable and the export amount has increased by more than 10%. At the same time, Jinjiang shoe enterprises have accelerated the development of the international market and gradually expanded their sales channels to Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South America and Africa on the premise of maintaining the stability of orders in Europe and North America. Jinjiang's foreign trade department took the initiative to provide services, guide enterprises to participate in international exhibitions such as Las Vegas in the United States, Dusseldorf in Germany, Frankfurt, Italy, and so on, adjust and improve the "Jinjiang Street", the Hungarian Asian center, and promote it to become the main business platform for the export of Jinjiang footwear products to the European Union. At the same time, we will accelerate the construction of the "China Commodity Direct Marketing Center" in Los Angeles, USA, and further expand the American market.
