Dominica'S Exports To The US Textile And Apparel Industry Have Increased Rapidly.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), sponsored by the DR-CAFTA implementation plan, invited the economist NassinJos e AlemanyIsaac to refer to the "DR-CAFTA agreement on impact assessment of Dominica industry" carried out by the Dominica Foreign Trade Office (Dicoex).

Most of Dominica's industrial raw materials depend on the United States.
Imported
The raw materials imported by the United States account for 40% of Dominica's domestic demand.
In addition, Dominica's 78% trade deficit with the United States comes from imports of petroleum, machinery, automobiles, cereals and plastic products.
While Dominica has a favorable balance of trade for the major US exports and its products are shoes, medical equipment, textiles, sucrose and cigars. The report also points out that the DR-CAFTA agreement has a positive impact on Dominica and China.

Since the implementation of the agreement, Dominica's exports to Central American countries have grown by 53%.
