The meeting was held by the former Chief Economist of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association and Vice President of Polypropylene Fiber Branch Li Zengjun host.
The conference was hosted by China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, Jiangsu Botao New Material Co., Ltd. and China Polypropylene Network, and undertaken by China Chemical Fiber Industry Association Polypropylene Branch.
Analysis and Prospect of the Economic Operation of China's Polypropylene Fiber Industry
▲ Dou Juan
Dou Juan, Secretary General of Polypropylene Fiber Branch of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association On behalf of the Secretariat of the Polypropylene Fiber Branch, he made a report on the polypropylene fiber industry, reviewed the overall operation of the polypropylene fiber industry in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, and looked forward to the development in the second half of 2025. In 2024, the overall operation of China's polypropylene fiber industry will be stable, with fewer imports, more exports and lower industry profits. In terms of polypropylene fiber raw materials, in 2024, the domestic polypropylene industry will continue to expand its capacity, and the oversupply will become normalized, with the price showing a trend of rising first and then declining. Although the overall price of polypropylene fiber changes with the price of raw materials, the base price difference remains stable as a whole. In terms of export, as polypropylene fiber is mainly exported to Southeast Asia, the tariff change this year has a small impact on the export of polypropylene fiber industry, but we should pay attention to the transmission effect of tariff on the end products of the industrial chain on polypropylene fiber. It is expected that the production capacity of polypropylene raw materials will further expand in 2025, with supply exceeding demand; The concentration of polypropylene fiber industry was further improved, and backward production capacity was gradually eliminated; Downstream demand slows down, opportunities and challenges coexist.
Standardization construction process of green development in China's polypropylene fiber industry
▲ Liu Shiyang
Liu Shiyang, Deputy Director of Development Department of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association According to the production process characteristics of polypropylene fiber, this paper analyzes on the three levels of industry, production and management, reports on the relevant standards of green manufacturing in the chemical fiber industry (including polypropylene fiber) at present, and introduces the main contents of the standards such as the energy consumption quota per unit product, the accounting of enterprise greenhouse gas emissions and the quantification of product carbon footprint. In addition, he also introduced the application of the chemical fiber industry for provincial and national green factories in recent years, as well as the third-party evaluation of green factories carried out by the Chemical Fiber Association.
Introduction to the new standard for SMEs in textile industry
▲ Zhao Zhipeng
Specialization, refinement, uniqueness, novelty and strong innovation capability are the characteristics of SMEs. At present, more and more SMEs regard specialization, refinement, novelty and innovation as the strategic direction to enhance competitiveness and achieve sustainable development. However, because the textile industry is a highly market-oriented industry, most of the small and medium-sized textile enterprises are seeking survival and development in the exploration. There are obvious differences in the development degree and development potential in management ability, innovation ability, operation performance and other aspects, and it is also difficult to have industry characteristics, pertinence, and more effective guidance for the formation of specialized new development of enterprises. Zhao Zhipeng, Deputy Director of Industry Development Department of China Textile Industry Federation It interprets and publicizes the evaluation criteria for the specialized and new development capability of small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile industry (T/CNTAC 231-2025). He introduced the evaluation index system and scoring rules for SMEs in the textile industry to specialize in new development capabilities, and elaborated on the specific provisions of evaluation methods, evaluation requirements, evaluation procedures, evaluation reports and document management. This specification is applicable to the diagnostic evaluation of relevant organizations and institutions on the specialized, special and new development ability of SMEs in the textile industry. Enterprises can also refer to this document for self analysis and diagnosis.
Exchange and sharing of polypropylene fiber industry chain enterprises
The participants introduced their market operation, commented on the overall development of the industry, and preliminarily discussed the "Tenth Five Year Plan" of polypropylene fiber industry; The polypropylene fiber market management, industrial technology upgrading, new product development, intelligent manufacturing, green development, application of finish masterbatch, etc. are discussed. Faced with the market situation this year, enterprise representatives said that the next step is to reduce production costs, increase product research and development efforts, carry out product differentiation development, and actively expand downstream market applications. Chen Long, a professor of Donghua University, suggested that polypropylene fiber production enterprises should carry out scientific and technological innovation, especially improve and enhance technology from both raw materials and equipment. Raw materials and equipment should match each other. At the same time, he called on polypropylene fiber enterprises to expand their horizons and actively expand their application fields.
▲ Li Zengjun
Li Zengjun, former Chief Economist of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association and Vice President of Polypropylene Fiber Branch Three problems existing in the polypropylene fiber industry at present are pointed out: first, the proportion of conventional varieties is large, and the ability to develop new products is insufficient; Second, the application field is not fully developed, and the excellent performance of polypropylene fiber is not fully developed; Third, production needs to improve technology and develop production equipment suitable for polypropylene fiber. To this end, he put forward four suggestions: first, strengthen technological innovation, cooperate with universities to tackle key technologies, develop new products, diversify development, and expand application fields. The second is to strengthen cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, collaborate in innovation, and prevent internal involvement; Third, strengthen product brand promotion and actively participate in the release of Chinese fiber fashion trends; Fourth, focus on green and intelligent development, take a specialized and new road, and plan ahead for the "15th Five Year Plan" layout.
▲ Chen Xinwei
According to the development characteristics of polypropylene fiber industry, Chen Xinwei, President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association In conclusion, several suggestions and thoughts are put forward: First, although the polypropylene fiber industry is dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, it is still necessary to do a good job in the "15th Five Year Plan" research, comply with the national development requirements, and obtain national policy support; Second, compared with the industrial output, the export volume of polypropylene fiber accounts for a relatively high proportion compared with other chemical fiber sub industries. Although the direct export volume to the United States is small, it is necessary to consider the export volume of finished products. In the face of the unpredictable trade environment and the lagging impact, we should take countermeasures in advance; Third, polypropylene fiber has excellent performance and wide applications. Enterprises should have confidence, and at the same time, accelerate the progress of production technology and equipment updates and iterations to promote intelligent, digital and green upgrading and transformation; Fourth, polypropylene fiber enterprises should make full use of the platform set up by the Association to communicate with upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, broaden their thinking, enhance cross-border thinking, jointly develop new products, expand new application fields, create demand, and lead demand. Finally, in view of the "15th Five Year Plan" development plan of the chemical fiber industry, he once again called on polypropylene fiber enterprises to actively put forward suggestions and opinions, so that industrial policies can better guide the healthy development of polypropylene fiber industry.
