Since its birth, China Textile Academy has taken science and technology as its own responsibility, always built a large scientific research system around the technology chain with fiber as the core, and tried its best to help the textile industry from big to strong.

Looking back at the history at the special node of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, we can clearly see that the development of China Textile Academy has gone through three stages, which also reflect the development process of the textile industry. First, in the 1950s and 1970s, China Textile Academy realized the localization of cotton spinning equipment, also known as the localization of single equipment, relying on scientific and technological strength, which solved the problem of greatly improving production efficiency in the early liberation period; Second, since the 1970s, China Textile Academy has realized the localization of fiber complete equipment through the introduction, digestion, absorption and re innovation. At the same time, it has joined hands with large domestic chemical fiber enterprises to achieve the development of a large number of synthetic fibers, laying a solid foundation for China to become a major chemical fiber country in the world; Third, since the 1990s, with the industry growing from large to strong, China Textile Academy has proposed to strengthen independent innovation, and started to tackle Lyocell technology independently, realizing the localization of complete technology of bio based fiber represented by Lyocell fiber.

Over the past 63 years, China Textile Academy has gone through different stages of development and also experienced the reform of its business model, but its original intention and mission to solve the clothing problem for the people has not changed. With the continuous upgrading of people's clothing needs, in 1999, China National Textile Institute was transformed from a scientific research institution to a large scientific and technological enterprise directly under the central government. According to the actual situation, it deeply integrated its scientific and technological strength, stabilized and consolidated a number of research and development teams, and vigorously developed the scientific and technological industry using decades of scientific research and technology accumulation. It has successively set up a number of companies controlled by China National Textile Institute Scientific and technological enterprises, which are held by the backbone of scientific research, production, operation and management, have found a way to adapt to industry competition and the characteristics of China Textile Academy. The new operation mechanism and management system have made the scale and efficiency of the science and technology industry of China Textile Academy rapidly improved. In 2009, with the approval of the State Council, China Textile Academy was incorporated into China General Technology Group as a whole. Through nearly ten years of development, with the help of the Group's large platform and its overall resource advantages, the transformation and upgrading of China Textile Academy has achieved initial results.

Today, CIFIT has become the largest comprehensive scientific research institute and textile high-tech industrial base in China's textile industry, with four business segments: fiber materials, industrial textiles, core equipment EPC and biochemical support, standard testing and technical services. However, no matter how the business is expanded, the background of scientific and technological innovation with fiber as the core is always bright, and the mission of meeting people's aspirations for a better life with fiber as the carrier remains unchanged.

I joined the China Textile Academy in 1997. Over the past 20 years, I have witnessed the growth of chemical fiber industry and the development of textile from a traditional industry represented by cotton, wool, linen and silk to a high-tech industry with multi-disciplinary intersection.

What impressed me most was the realization of the industrialization of ten thousand tons of domestic Lyocell fiber. Lyocell fiber has many advantages of natural fiber comfort and chemical fiber at the same time. It can almost achieve zero pollution in the production process, and the solvent used is non-toxic. It is almost the perfect fiber in everyone's mind. However, due to the complexity of technology, it has been monopolized by foreign enterprises for a long time.

In the textile fiber consumption of the world's population, 60%~70% of the fiber comes from oil. Due to the non renewable factor of oil, the oil supply will become less and less. Lyocell fiber is a regenerated cellulose fiber. In order to solve the problem of fiber consumption for a long time and break the international monopoly, in 1998, China Textile Academy put forward the goal of "unifying ideas, clarifying goals, and unswervingly doing a good job in the localization of Lyocell fiber". Then, under the guidance of three presidents, it overcame various difficulties. After numerous small and medium-sized trials, on December 23, 2016, China finally owned completely independent intellectual property rights from production line equipment to production process The 15 thousand ton Lyocell fiber production line of China General Technology Group Zhongfang Green Fiber with 100% equipment was successfully started at one time. This is the final achievement of China Textile Academy after 18 years of grinding, which also means that China's textile industry is about to usher in a huge change.

On February 21 this year, the "60000 ton/year new solvent method cellulose fiber industrialization project" of China National Textile Institute was officially started in Xinxiang, Henan Province, and will be started in June next year. At that time, a 100000 ton capacity scale will be formed, laying the most solid foundation for China National Textile Institute to build a 500000 ton scale in 2021 and become the world's first general technology high-tech new material industry group of Lyocell fiber.
