Underarmour

After a wave of personnel disputes, in January 23rd, the US sports brand Under Armour announced the restructuring of the human resources department.

The most obvious change is that the company has set up the post of "chief human and cultural officer" as the head of human resources department.

At present, Under Armour has found the "chief human and cultural officer" candidate, Cernavia Locke (Tchernavia Rocker), who has worked as a human resource leader for 18 years in the motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson, and is the vice president and chief human resource officer of the company recently.

Public information shows that chernevian is experienced in personnel management and corporate culture.

Previously, she led a human resource team of nearly 200 people around the world in Harley-Davidson, responsible for developing strategic direction and leading the implementation of the company's workforce strategy.

At the same time, she is a member of the American Institute of human resources policy, the Institute of human resource management and the national black MBA Association.

Cherna will go to Under Armour in February 2019 to take the lead in the company's human resources affairs and report directly to the company's chairman and chief executive, Kevin Kevin (Plank).

At present, the US brand has 14 thousand employees worldwide, hoping to appoint the company to rebuild its culture.

"Welcomes cherna to join the Under Armour family and executive leadership team," Kevin Plank said publicly. "She has deep experience in the industry, can bring first-class human resources operation, and enterprise culture based on brand values."

In October 2018, Under Armour broke the "striptease incident" and complained about the working environment that made female employees feel devalued.

The Wall Street Journal reported that over the years, executives and employees including Kevin Plank would go to strip clubs with athletes or colleagues after some corporate activities and sporting events, and companies often pay for many visitors.

Since then, Under Armour has examined the company culture and sent emails to all staff - prohibiting employees from using credit card consumption when patronizing strip clubs.

Kevin Plank also expressed his commitment to improve the company's work culture while attending the Washington economic society.

In the "striptease incident" exposure at the same time, from 2015 as the company's chief human resources officer Carey Chandler (Kerry Chandler) announced in October 2018 to quit, pferred to the talent broker company Endeavor as executive.

In addition to the company's internal culture has been questioned, recently, Under Armour personnel changes are also very frequent.

In July 2018, Erick Haskell, former managing director of Asia Pacific region, announced that he had left for New Zealand wool sports shoes brand Allbirds as president of international business.

As the company's top marketing executive, Adrienne Lofton, the senior vice president of global brand management, also left the company.

In December 2018, Ryan Kuehl, senior vice president of global sports marketing and Walker Jones, senior director of sports marketing, were both dismissed.

According to people familiar with the matter, two executives had misconduct in such items as "sports events, giving gifts to athletes and going out for the night".

At the beginning of 2019, Thomas Walsh, a former vice president of global store development, filed a lawsuit claiming that it was "sacked" in August 2018 and had not received any notice or reason in advance.

He filed a total of $2 million 355 thousand claim against Under Armour, and the case is still under trial.

Under Armour announced earlier that it will lay off about 400 people before March 2019, accounting for 3% of the global workforce and about $10 million in severance payment.

In the absence of a marked improvement in global performance, all kinds of internal personnel disputes have struck Under Armour.

The US brand had to restructure the human resources department and find experienced personnel executives.
