The Wenzhou Municipal Economic and Trade Bureau said yesterday that the economic and trade delegation of the city of Wenzhou held a theme of "investing in Wenzhou, cooperation and win win" in London, England.

This is the first time that Wenzhou has held investment promotion activities in Britain alone.

At the promotion conference, Wenzhou's famous clothing enterprise "George White" formally joined hands with the British top handmade suit company "Chester Barre". At the same time, more than 30 British companies invited to participate in the promotion conference showed a lot of willingness to invest in Wenzhou after the introduction.

Business dealings between Wenzhou and Britain have existed for a long time.

More than 100 years ago, Wenzhou was one of China's great trading ports to Britain.

City Commerce Bureau official said that the introduction of investment promotion in Wenzhou was due to the strong advantages of the UK's education, finance and service industries in the world, and complementarity with Wenzhou.

Britain is Wenzhou's second largest trading market in the European Union.

Up to now, 21 enterprises from the United Kingdom have invested and developed in Wenzhou, with a total investment of nearly US $300 million.

The British China Trade Association has invited more than 30 British companies to participate. Among them, there are many famous multinational companies such as DDT accounting firm, KPMG accounting office and British water group.

It is reported that Wenzhou intends to introduce capital, technology and ideas in the UK's educational, financial and service sectors, so that the corresponding industries in Wenzhou can gain innovation power and promote economic pformation.

According to the data of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the total trade volume between Wenzhou and the United Kingdom in 2009 was 330 million dollars, and last year it increased to 790 million US dollars, with an average annual growth rate of 35.9%.

This year 1~9 month growth is up to 45.9%, showing a strong growth momentum.

The Municipal Economic and trade delegation also inspected the Spanish group of pork producers Baucells group, and Wenzhou has plans to import the company's pork products.

Baucells group was founded in 1958, with an annual output of 60 thousand tons of pork products, with an annual sales volume of 100 million euros.
