Regional Development Of Shoemaking Industry In China

2008/6/3 0:00:00 10359

Development

In 2003, nearly 7 billion pairs of shoes were produced in China, accounting for more than 50% of the total footwear production in the world. In 2006, more than 14 billion 800 million pairs of finished shoes were manufactured in the world. Among them, the output of China's shoe making enterprises exceeded 10 billion pairs, accounting for 68% of the world's annual output. The continuous increase of production share indicates that China has become an important manufacturing base for world shoe products.

With the gradual improvement of the status of shoemaking industry in the world, from the past order manufacturing to the creation of world brands, from the pition from product pricing power to pricing power and international trade initiative in the past, the pformation of Chinese shoemaking enterprises from "made in China" to "created in China" has fully demonstrated that it is the only way for the sustainable development of China's footwear industry to get rid of external dependence, and to develop independent products and create world brands.

The question now lies before Chinese shoemaking enterprises is: how to improve the international competitiveness of our shoe products and brand our products?

Reducing production costs and improving local industrial cluster strategy is one of the effective ways to enhance the competitiveness of China's footwear industry.

From the perspective of the regional shift of the world footwear industry, the world shoe manufacturing base was pferred from developed countries in Europe and America to Asia, Japan, Korea, Hongkong and other countries and regions in the 70s of last century, and then gradually pferred to mainland China, Indonesia, Vietnam, India and so on.

By 90s, the southeastern coastal areas such as Guangdong became the main base of the Chinese mainland, and this trend lasted until the beginning of twenty-first Century.

In 2006, China's shoe making enterprises accounted for 68% of the world's output, while in Dongguan, Guangdong, 60% of the world's total purchases of finished shoes were in the world.

As the footwear industry is a typical labor-intensive industry, the shoe industry has shifted from the country with high labor costs to the low labor cost area through the shift of the world shoe industry.

Therefore, along with the rapid development of the southeast coastal economy and the increasing cost of labor, the domestic shoe industry has shifted from the southeast coast to the West.

The trend of domestic shoe industry capacity pfer has appeared 3 years ago. Only last year, more than 300 coastal shoe factories settled in Chengdu.

Although Chengdu is known as the "city of women's shoes in China", all kinds of shoes products in Chengdu and Chongqing are not yet fully formed. Therefore, under the trend of "moving east shoes to the west", China's shoe-making enterprises should continue to improve industrial clustering and further increase the regional concentration of industries.

Only in this way can enterprises share the means of production, public services, regional brands, improve collective efficiency through cooperation, and promote innovation in cooperation, ensure the healthy and rapid development of China's footwear industry, and enhance the global status and competitiveness of products.
