Skating

Skating is a popular sport for scientists in the winter. Skating is a popular sport.

Whenever you stand on the skating rink and are surrounded by a slippery skater and a postural deformable skater, do you wonder if your skating is born?

Recently, scientists at the City University of Manchester found that ice skating existed 5000 years ago, that is, 3000 BC, but ice skating was not for entertainment but for survival.

People living in the southern part of Finland are the earliest skaters in Europe.

The first pair of skates unearthed in the Museum of the Finland museum was born 5000 years ago. Archaeologists found ice skates made of animal bones near the Scandinavian Peninsula in North Scandinavia. The design of these skates is very simple: one hole is made on the skates made of bones of horses or cattle, and they are tied to two feet with ropes made of animal skins.

In order to find out the purpose of early man making skates and skaters in northern Europe, Federico Formanti and Professor Albert Minetti of the Institute of human movement physiology and clinical research, Manchester City University, studied the skating skates.

Recently, Formanti said that more than 5000 years ago, Nordic people used skating with bone skates to survive in harsh weather conditions in winter.

At that time, skating was not regarded as an entertainment or sports activity.

"Just as later people invented snowboards and bicycles, the earliest skates were designed to save energy consumption during the journey."

Wearing skates can save physical exertion. In fact, people wore "skates" to cooperate with each other at that time. Several people were standing on the bones tied together by leather cords, each holding a long stick in each hand. After that, we all worked hard to slide the huge bone skate.

In order to prove how to use it, the research team led by Forman and Minetti copied the bone skates discovered by archaeologists, and invited volunteers to wear these skates to conduct ice skating experiments in the ice rink near the Alps.

After a day's exercise, the researchers counted volunteers' heartbeat frequency, oxygen intake and speed of skating, and found that skating after wearing skates is a way to save physical exertion.

The Finnish people are the world's first skaters. After analyzing the number, age and topography of the skates made in different locations in northern Europe, Forman and Minetti led the research team that the people in southern Finland were the earliest skaters in Europe.

Researchers said that many lakes in southern Finland will form a large ice farm with an area of about 100 square kilometers in winter. It is the most suitable ice skating area for people to walk on ice skating.

The researchers also compared the distance traveled by volunteers in the experiment to the computer simulation of the topography data of different countries in northern Europe. The results showed that the distance traveled by skating was the best way to save physical energy and physical energy value in the southern Finland terrain, and to save 3% of the physical energy in the terrain of Norway. However, in the Swedish, German and Northern Holland terrain, it could save less than 1% of the physical fitness.

Formanti and Minetti concluded that the combined effects of topography and climate forced southern Finland residents to start skating in Europe.
