To become the fastest growing category of outdoor industry product sales, for the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), economic footwear is the most important task.

H.R.XXXX has been imitated legislation, and after the successful OIA legislation, so far, it has saved us $about 25000000 for outdoor businesses.

After the passage of the bill, a large amount of capital saved will be reinvested in product innovation, job creation and the cost of outdoor consumers.

The economically applicable footwear Act (AFA) will suspend many disproportionate import tariffs for three years, with some tariffs up to 37.5%.

In fact, many outdoor footwear has higher tariffs than the federal tariffs on cigarettes. The amazing difference will be corrected with the passage of AFA.

The bill also ensures that the US manufacturing sector will remain globally competitive in this area by excluding the US manufactured products.

The bill is temporary. Therefore, domestic production can be reassessed after four years, and the products of appreciation will be excluded.

"Economic footwear law is a balance, it is a good bill, for everyone, it is a win-win situation."

OIA president and chief executive officer Frank Hugelmeyer said.

"This bill will reduce costs, let footwear companies invest in new product innovation, create employment opportunities in the United States, and ultimately lower retail prices, so that these products can be cheaper, so that more Americans can accept them."

OIA encourages its members to send representatives to their representatives by telephone or e-mail, asking them to support the legislation through the economic footwear law.
