According to the official consultation of May, the 2009-2010 year statistical analysis report of China's apparel industry online retailing was released in 2009. In 2009, the market size of the apparel industry in China's online retail market reached 64 billion yuan, an increase of 97% over the same period in 2008 and an increase of 80% billion in 2010.

In 2009, Taobao apparel online retailing accounted for 86% of the total market share of apparel industry online retailing.

According to the E-Tailing Trends telephone survey and online retail monitoring data, in 2009, apparel online retail grew by 97% over the same period last year, and the market size increased from 15 billion in 2007 to 64 billion in 2009. The size of the apparel online retail market in 2010 is expected to increase by 80% over 2009, reaching 115 billion yuan in the market scale.

Fan Chunhui, director of E-Tailing project and senior consultant, thinks that apparel online retailing has been growing rapidly in recent years. The amount of clothing online shopping accounts for 1/4 of the total market size of China's online retailing. It is the largest number of online shopping users and the largest online shopping category.

The traditional clothing brand enterprises began to test the water online retail industry since 2008, and made significant progress in only one year. In 2009, sales of Lining clothing in Taobao's whole network exceeded 500 million yuan. The maximum daily turnover of JACK&JONES and Kappa on online shops reached about 5000000 yuan and about 4000000 yuan respectively, forming a demonstration effect, which led to the rapid development of traditional brand apparel online retailing.

Many brand clothing enterprises have achieved a monthly sales turnover of over one million yuan and maintained sustained growth in the short span of one year.

More importantly, a number of brand enterprises' cross platform marketing, online brand promotion, organization and management of online distribution channels, and integration management of online and offline channels have already explored a lot of mature and valuable experience and solutions.

China's clothing e-commerce has just started, and it can be expected that in the next three to five years, the online retailing of brand clothing enterprises will be pushed to a new peak.
