New International Standard For Eco Textiles

The international standard of eco textiles has always been a green benchmark for global textile products. Its trend directly affects the production, trade and final use of global textiles.

The new version of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standard came into effect in January 1, 2010. Compared with the previous version, the testing items in the new standard changed.

First, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Since January 11th, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAK) have been tested on synthetic fiber, yarn and plastic parts of four product categories.

The total limit of the 16 prescribed substances is 10mg/kg, and the limit of benzo pyrene is 1mg/kg.

The two is about two isobutyl phthalate two formic acid.

In view of the fact that two isobutyl phthalate (DIBP) will be included in the list of REACH high attention (SVHC), the softener will also be excluded in the framework of environmental textiles certification (as a supplement to the detection of o-phenyl two formate).

The three is about two Xin tin.

Since the EU regulation 2009/425/EC made clear descriptions of products such as printed textiles, gloves and carpet textiles, the international environmental textile association added two DOT to the banned list of organotin compounds.

The limit for baby products (product category I) is 1.0mg/kg, and the limit for other product categories is 2.0mg/kg.

It can be seen that the changes in the contents of the new version of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 are directly related to the changes in REACH regulations and EU regulations.

Relevant enterprises and testing organizations should not only pay attention to the renewal of standards, but also pay close attention to the relevant laws and regulations of the European Union and REACH, so as to foresight the development of new technologies and grasp the new trend of international frontiers.
